What makes cannoli even better is that there are several types of fillings but one of the most popular types are Sicilian cannoli where the filling may contain candied fruit, chocolate chips, or pistachio nuts. Sometimes you may find some some with all 3 ingredients mixed in!

Ingredients for Cannoli Siciliani:
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp Marsala wine
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp instant coffee powder
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder unsweetned
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup lard
- peanut oil for frying
- 3 cups sheep ricotta cheese
- 2/3 cups dark chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- candied cherries for garnish
