Slow Cooker Chocolate Pudding Cake Ingredients

When it comes to making a delicious slow cooker chocolate pudding cake, it’s important to have the right ingredients on hand. Here’s a list of everything I need:

  • All-purpose flour
  • Granulated vegan sugar
  • Cocoa powder
  • Baking powder
  • Almond milk
  • Vegetable oil
  • Vanilla extract
  • Dark brown sugar
  • Cocoa powder
  • Hot water
  • Salt

The all-purpose flour is the base of the cake, while the granulated vegan sugar adds sweetness. The cocoa powder gives the cake its chocolate flavor, while the baking powder helps it rise. The almond milk and vegetable oil add moisture to the cake, while the vanilla extract and dark brown sugar give it a rich, complex flavor. The hot water is used to create the pudding-like sauce that forms on the bottom of the cake, while a pinch of salt helps to balance the sweetness.

With these ingredients, we are ready to start baking this delicious slow cooker chocolate pudding cake!

Preparation

Mixing the Dry Ingredients

First, I mix the flour, vegan sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a medium bowl until well combined.

Adding the Wet Ingredients

Next, add the almond milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into prepared baking dishes and spread it evenly.

Preparing the Chocolate Sauce

In a separate bowl, mix the dark brown sugar and cocoa powder. Then, heat 1½ cups of hot water in a microwave-safe measuring cup for about 2 minutes, until it’s hot but not boiling. Carefully pour the hot water over the dark brown sugar and cocoa powder.

Combining the Cake and Sauce

First, divide the cake batter between your baking dishes. Then, divide your chocolate sauce by pouring it evenly over the cake batter for each dish. Carefully place them in your slow cooker and cook on high for 2 hours. Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving. I like to top it with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
